In English class this term we are going to be doing many different things. Some of those things include writing, reading, analyzing works, doing projects, and of course taking tests/ quizzes.Over the course of multiple weeks we read and analyzed the book Night by Elie Wiesel. Every week for three weeks we had to read a portion of the book and write a six paragraph letter to a friend. Since my class did a good job on our buddy letters we didnt have to take a test on Night. Although we didn't take a test on Night we did have to do a Genocide Project in groups. My group consisted of Kaylin, Madison, Maddi, Kaleigh, and I. We did our project on Irena Sendler and her accomplishments as a person.
After we finished Night we had a few classes before Christmas Break where we just finished up some micellaneous work and played some games that had to do with English. After break we had to go to the library and get the book Fhrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. Our first assignment for this book was to read the first 68 pages and do a DEJ. A DEJ is a double entry journal where you pick a quote and make a comment on it based on the question Mrs. Murray picked. The DEJ requires us to get 8-12 quotes and comment on them and how they relate to the question. So come back soon as I continue to read Fahrenheit 451 over the next few weeks. |
